We came in the second week it had been open, so don't believe Booking.com. The Landlady and Staff made us feel incredibly welcome. Our room was huge and very comfortable, with excellent tea and coffee facilities, and the bar service was quick and friendly. There wasn't a set menu, but after a few suggestions from the Landlady we settled on a Steak and Stilton pie. It was mouthwatering, with lovely gravy and possibly the best chips ever, shaped like little roast potatoes. Easy to find, warm and friendly. We'll definitely be back for more of everything!

Had a great stay. The room was spotless, the bathroom was too, and the bed was really comfortable. Such a clean, friendly place to stay, and I'd most definitely come again. No faults at all, thank you.

The staff were very welcoming and friendly, and there's a big outdoor seating area behind the pub. The Crown & Anchor Inn is a large, traditional pub with several other rooms featuring really nice wood panelling, as well as a pool table in the bar. There's a wide choice of beers, lager and cider, including two cask conditioned real ales. The ales were in excellent condition when we visited.

There's no food, but this place still gets five stars across the board from me. It was immaculate, and Sue was super helpful. There aren't many taxis available to take you onward, so book early. Can't recommend staying here enough.

The kitchen's being refitted, so it wasn't available, but the room was just right, clean and tidy, and the bed was comfy. Good pint too. I'll come back if I'm in the area.
