Lower House

We decided to stay one night of our three, hoping things might improve after we arrived, but they didn't. We had thought about leaving in the early hours, then waited until morning out of respect for the hosts. We were very disappointed with the whole experience and would never return. We've stayed in many fabulous places where customer service mattered, and sadly that wasn't our experience here. Anyone wanting the nice things should go elsewhere. People who rated this place highly must have very low standards. The male host was rude and bolshy from the start. He began going over rules and regulations before we could even get through the door. The sleeping area was separated from the owners' quarters by a curtain, which left my wife very uncomfortable and me gobsmacked. Our bedroom was tiny, the bed uncomfortable, and I didn't sleep at all. I ended up on the sitting room floor so my wife could try to get some rest in the bed. That sitting room was a small bedroom with an uncomfortable sofa bed. The television was tiny and had no Sky or BT channels. We were offered tea on arrival, but it was taken upstairs to our sitting room, which felt very unprofessional. Breakfast was less than average. The male host then suggested making up the sofa bed, which would have meant me sleeping apart from my wife. I wasn't going to do that.
