Breakfast was a real knockout, and I’ll definitely be back. Steve and Flávio were wonderfully generous hosts, welcoming us like long-lost family. Upton Cross B&B is a wonderfully quirky rabbit warren, full of fascinating memorabilia and nostalgia. My room had a retro charm that suited the house, with views across the garden to the sea and the animals. It’s very dog friendly, and the four charming elderly dogs roaming indoors and out made us feel at home. Oscar the Pointer may have a little ulterior motive when food is around, but he’s easy to forgive. There are alpacas, donkeys, geese and chickens too. The shower seemed keener on washing the bathroom floor than us, which somehow added to the experience. Leave your expectations at the door and enjoy the hospitality.

We only stayed one night, unfortunately, and couldn’t make breakfast because it starts at 8:30 and we had to leave much earlier. Steve kindly made us sandwiches to take, and gave each of us water, crisps, a banana, an apple and some sweets. The room was simple but clean and comfortable, with a table and lamp, plus tea, coffee, milk and snacks. The location is great, with a beach and pub nearby. Steve welcomed us warmly, showed us around, and we had a nice chat in the evening. We were excited to see five dogs, three cats, geese, chicken, donkeys we got to feed, and even alpacas. It’s a pretty unique stay and I’d book again. Thanks to Steve and the other man!

A lovely dog friendly BnB, and the hosts were brilliant. The breakfast was fantastic 🥞. It’s ideally placed for exploring the surrounding area on foot or by car. My partner, our dog 🐕 Lola and I will definitely return.

Such a beautiful B&B, though sadly we only stayed one night. The sea views from our room and the rolling countryside were gorgeous. Steve gave us a very warm welcome. The place is full of fascinating antiques and taxidermy, and the owners rescue animals, so there were dogs to greet us as well as geese, chickens, ducks, donkeys and alpacas. Breakfast is ordered in advance and was delicious and hot.

The owners are lovely, friendly and helpful, and made us feel really welcome. There’s plenty of parking, the location is good, and breakfast was lovely. Seeing all the animals was entertaining too. Looking forward to going back.
