It was hard to leave after a perfect family stay. The house and gardens are beautiful, and it had everything we could need. The beds were really comfortable, while the pool table and hot tub were highlights. When we had a couple of questions, David and Caroline got back to us quickly and helped out. We also had lovely meals at the white horse and cosy corner cabin.

We had a great walking holiday, with Riverside walks close by and the house in a great location. The garden was fantastic, and the kitchen/diner was great too. The airy rooms were lovely, the white bed linen was crisp and clean, and the house was spotless throughout. Our only small niggle was that the original side of the house has just one bathroom shared between three bedrooms. Otherwise, it was wonderful, and we can thoroughly recommend the Pheasantry.

There was so much to do that we didn’t need to leave the Pheasantry: a pool table, piano, games room with good-quality games and jigsaws, bright library, jacuzzi and table tennis. It’s also only a 15 minute walk into Builth Wells, an interesting, well-stocked town on the river Wye. The house was spotless, and we didn’t need to clean a thing. Homemade cakes and generous fridge supplies, including bread and jams, were lovely touches. David replied immediately whenever we needed to contact him, so there was no searching around for someone responsible. The garden is large, beautiful and well established with plenty of trees and shrubs. Set 2/10ths of a mile in from the main road, the house felt peaceful and private. The Pheasantry was perfect for our family of 9, ages 7 to 75. We had the best week, and a big thank you to David and Caroline for helping make it such a great stay.
