Best Western Plus Buxton Lee Wood Hotel

Breakfast was really good quality, and it was our first chance to try delicious Derbyshire oatcakes. The hotel was welcoming and clean, and the twin rooms were a decent size. They let our group have rooms next to each other, which we appreciated. It’s easy to walk into Buxton. Parking is limited, though there’s plenty of space on the road in front of the hotel. It was an enjoyable first stay at a Best Western.

Our room, number 12, was modern, spacious, comfortable and spotless, with a great view. The shower was one of the best I’ve used in a hotel, powerful and clean, in a well-designed bathroom. We also had a large TV, coffee machine, kettle, hairdryer and ironing board. The staff made a real difference, all cheerful and welcoming from the friendly check-in onwards. It felt like they enjoyed looking after guests. Free parking had plenty of space, so arriving was easy, and the location is excellent, a short walk from the centre and close to everything. We’d planned to have breakfast elsewhere, but changed our minds because the stay had been so good. The restaurant lady was lovely, efficient and on top of everything. Both full English breakfasts were excellent, and there was a good choice of yoghurt, cereal, fruit and pastries while we waited. My wife and I came as a treat for her upcoming birthday and were really impressed. We’re already thinking about coming back in July for our wedding anniversary. Jason & Vicky

The team were warm, friendly and genuinely kind, and the hotel was sparkling clean. Our room was spacious and cosy, a good fit for relaxing or getting some work done. We spent three nights at the Lee Wood Hotel in Buxton, with one of us at a conference and the other on a mini-holiday. The food was delicious, and it’s an easy stroll into town. It was fantastic value for money, too. We had such a good stay that we were a little sad to leave. Highly recommend the Lee Wood Hotel for a visit to Buxton.

The buffet was lovely, and breakfast was fantastic too. We held my dad’s funeral reception here and booked a room for the night, and the team worked hard to make sure everything went smoothly. You can tell this has been a family-run hotel for decades by how much the staff care. Thanks for looking after us so well. We’ll be recommending you to friends who visit.
