We stayed at the campsite for three nights and had a wonderful time. For an inexpensive few nights in a beautiful setting, we were happy overall, though a few things could’ve been better. There’s no freezer for ice blocks, the washing-up sinks have very low water pressure, the pitches are small enough that fitting our car was a struggle with neighbours on both sides, and the shower temperature kept varying. The pub is closed and the site seems to run itself. We didn’t see any staff during our stay, though the toilets were cleaned daily, and it was perfectly adequate. Pulling onto a busy 50mph road every time we wanted to go somewhere was quite an experience!

The rack of ribs was fantastic, with loads of meat, no gristle and cooked just right. The rest of the family enjoyed burgers that looked delicious, and the chips were great too. We stopped in with the family for food after visiting the Donkey Sanctuary next door, whose website has the open days. It’s a proper pub with a good choice of ales and lagers on tap, friendly, polite staff and a dog-friendly welcome. The surroundings and facilities were clean and tidy. We’d happily return to try other things on the menu.

We had a wonderful weekend with family and will definitely return. The pub has lots of screens for sport, a few vegan dishes to choose from, and it’s friendly to both families and dogs. The food was delicious, service was great, and everything was well organised by helpful, friendly staff. There’s a brilliant campsite behind the pub, with clean facilities and walks starting from there.

The food was fantastic, and the buffet was far better than I’ve often found at events. It was served warm, topped up regularly, and had some of the best pizzas I’ve had in years. The venue made for an excellent wedding day. I booked the function room for my wedding, and communication beforehand was fantastic. They were very accommodating even though I was rather disorganised. On the day, the staff were warm, friendly and polite, and did whatever they could to help things run smoothly.

The camping pitch behind the pub was clean and easy to set up on, and the pub itself was warm and dog-friendly. We had a really nice meal with some good beers, with friendly, attentive service. Everyone seemed relaxed. We’ll definitely come back for another camping trip and food.
