The rooms are spacious and well equipped, so having takeaway in is easy if you want. My room had a huge, very comfortable bed and a wall mounted TV. After a hard day's walking, the bath with massage jets was great. Superb accommodation, and the landlady was excellent and very helpful.

Jan was lovely and kept in touch by text, always checking what we needed even though we never met. If we popped out and mentioned we needed something, it was waiting by our door when we got back. The room was spotless and had everything, including a mini fridge and microwave. It was absolutely beautiful, with a huge, really comfy bed that could probably fit four people. Such a pity we only stayed one night. Highly recommend, and we'd definitely stay again.

We really loved our stay. The house is beautiful and sits inside the castle wall. The host was so nice, showed us around and shared food recommendations for nearby.

The owner was really lovely, and there were plenty of refreshments. A very nice stay in a beautiful house and rooms, with a really comfortable bed.

Jan made my stay at Victoria House truly wonderful, along with her two gorgeous dogs. The great reviews are deserved. She was friendly, welcoming, and went way beyond what I expected from a host. My room and its bathroom were both really large. I loved all the thought in the details, right down to the evenly spaced coat hangers in the wardrobes. Jan had also left a bottle of wine in my room, which was very welcome after the journey and the reason for my visit. I was there for a family funeral, so I didn't get to explore much locally. I did have a couple of nice meals at the Black Boy Inn, just a 3 minute walk from Victoria House.
