NosDa Studio Hostel

I've never stayed overnight since I live around the corner, but I'm glad this is my local. It's relaxed and friendly, with a pool table, sunny patio, local artists on the walls and even its own beer. The food is reasonably priced and fine, though I wouldn't make a special trip just to eat here. There are events in the bar and the larger concert space downstairs, and guests often have jam sessions in the bar. Whether that's good or bad depends on the night. Residents can use the gym. Cross the bridge and you're in Cardiff city centre, with a riverside walk to the park one way and Cardiff bay the other. The Sunday farmer's market is just a few steps away. I'd thoroughly recommend it as a place to stay.

The rooms are cheap, and the staff and bar are really nice, but you get about what you'd expect for the price. The bathrooms weren't exactly clean, and the kitchen was missing a lot of equipment. For me, it's worth it when beds cost under 35 pounds, but not when they're more, like when the city fills up for a game.

This was my first visit, and I'll definitely stay again if I need a place in Cardiff. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Sitting on the terrace in the sunshine for breakfast was lovely.

This small, friendly hostel was lovely. The room was clean and nice, and I liked having the shower separate from the toilet facilities. Staff were lovely and arranged a special birthday surprise in the room with my partner. You get 24/7 access to the hotel, so you can go out for the night without worrying about getting back in. They put on a continental breakfast with fresh fruit every morning. The location is great, right next to the arena and a short walk from the city centre and docks.
