Vallum House Hotel has a lovely large garden at the back and plenty of parking, making it a great place for small weddings or other functions. The rooms and hotel were spotless, and the staff were very helpful. The food was delicious, with a big bar area and lots of drinks to choose from. Definitely a hidden gem and a place worth visiting.

The rooms and linen were super clean, the breakfast was great, and the service was fantastic. Excellent value for money. It's a nice, quiet place that's easy to find, just outside Carlyle and not far from the highway. Places to eat are only a few minutes away.

Owner Elaine went out of her way to get a lost item back to us while we were still travelling around England. We slept very well because the rooms were so quiet, and both breakfast and dinner were very good. This inn was also really convenient for our Hadrian's Wall hike. We'd definitely stay again.

The owners and staff were pleasant and helpful, and there’s a full bar on site. Food is available six days a week. This is a lovely locally owned guest house, and my bedroom was bright, clean and very comfortable. Tea and coffee were provided in the room.

The food was good, especially the roast dinners, and there are options for kids. Staff were friendly, the service was good, and there was a decent range of food and drinks. You can park beside the building. Inside, though, it looks old and worn and could do with redecorating. That tired look may be affecting the atmosphere.
