The beer garden and location are great, with good food and a nice range of drinks. Staff were friendly and accommodating, and service stayed quick and friendly despite the bank holiday Monday crowd. I had “the tasty burger”, and it really lived up to its name, one of the best burgers I’ve had. The chips alongside it were out of this world too. Everything tasted fresh and high quality. I’ll definitely come back next time I’m in the area.

The views were amazing, and we were so close to the coast. Our room was spacious and very clean, and the place was warm with great beer and a lovely atmosphere. Everyone on staff made us feel welcome, especially Richard, Caroline and Alan. The food was great. For some reason I chose vegetarian for both lunch and breakfast, simply because it sounded good. Dogs are welcome too, and I wish we’d brought ours.

Breakfast was one of the best I’ve ever had, and the service came with a smile again. The staff were friendly and helpful. There was a huge choice of tasty home-style food, so it took me a while to pick, and the portions were generous for the price. The rooms are a good size and do show some age, but that adds to the charm. The views from the room were gorgeous and peaceful. I’d definitely stay again.

The dogs seemed to like it too. It’s a fantastic pub, very dog-friendly, with lovely staff and a great spot near the beach in Silverdale. As I’m writing this, I’m still embarrassed that my Android Pay didn’t work, but one of the locals covered my beer. I’ll get her one next time I’m in.

Be careful if you have an allergy or intolerance. The gluten-free options were very limited, just salad or a burger with boiled potatoes. The menu did warn about possible cross-contamination, and unfortunately I became very ill after being glutened. I emailed management to flag it so they could check ingredients and food handling, but they haven’t replied to my messages.
