Breakfast was fantastic and kept me going all day as I explored the area. I spent two nights at The Knowe and felt so welcome, thanks to the lovely Karen and Harry. My room was stunning, with a wonderful view, and the attention to detail throughout was superb. I’m already looking forward to coming back again and again. 😊👍

I’m from London, and The Knowe feels like a real gem up north. The views are incredible, and the location is handy for the main attractions. Karen and Harry are wonderful hosts, the rooms are better than most hotels, and I had the best Scottish breakfast I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to stay at The Knowe again. There’s so much good to say about it.

The rooms are spacious and lovely, with modern bathrooms and showers that couldn’t be better. The garden is also decorated with so much care. The owners were very nice and gave us helpful tips on where to go, what to bring and where to eat. We really enjoyed our stay at the Knowe. Breakfast was delicious, as was the homemade short bed on the tea tray, and they brought us fresh milk for our tea. For anyone who isn’t keen on dogs, they’re quiet most of the time. The most you’re likely to see is them watching you through the window, and they’re very small.

The Knowe Bed & Breakfast had lovely views of the surrounding countryside, and the beds were super comfy. Breakfast was delightful too. My husband and I brought our daughter and her husband on a family history tour of Carsphairn Parish and southern Scotland. We visited in early December 2018, and the trip felt much too short. I’m glad we made time to explore my family’s roots there, and I hope we can return. We met several kind, friendly locals who helped us find good pubs and restaurants, showed us where our ancestors were buried and where they used to farm, and made us feel at home. We also visited the Carsphairn Parish Church and the Carsphairn Tea House. Everyone we met was warm and helpful. Such a lovely visit, with beautiful memories. Don’t miss the adorable fairy garden in the driveway. :)

We booked the same day and stayed one night. The owners made us feel welcome, and the room was large and comfortable. The full Scottish breakfast was very good too. The area is wonderful and probably deserves a longer stay. Maybe next time we visit Scotland!
