The Wight Mouse Inn

My mum and I hadn't been here for years, so we decided to pop in for dinner this afternoon. Such a good call. The view over Chale was stunning, and inside the pub felt warm and welcoming. The staff were polite and friendly with us and our two huskies. We both ordered The Winter combo, apparently the first ones to try it. I'm honoured to have been among the first, because it was honestly the best meal I've ever tasted. The vegetables were spot on, the pork belly melted in my mouth and had lovely flavour, and the Yorkshire pudding and beef were divine. At £23, it was great value for such a huge meal. I think the manager was called Alex, and he was very humble and polite to us. We'll definitely go again when we're back on the island, and recommend it to everyone. Well done to the staff, and my highest compliments to the chef.

The special board is worth checking out, with hearty options that won't disappoint. Last night we had a full rack of ribs, and tonight it was the chair-style pork medallions. Both were first-class in taste and a good size, and the food arrived about 10 minutes after we ordered. It's a great venue, with lots of wooden beams and plenty of space to eat and drink. The staff were welcoming and couldn't do enough for us. Since it's also a hotel, it's got more than anyone could need. Well worth travelling over from Hampshire.

It's a nice place, with great food and fair prices, and I'll always support it when I can. I used to come here as a child, and it's my local. I remember the musical instruments on the walls and, I think, 365 whiskys.

We came for a meal, not to stay, and both the service and food were lovely. The prices were reasonable, and the portions were generous and tasty. The children's menu was brilliant, with more variety than the usual four choices of nuggets, sausage, pasta and burger. We'll definitely come back next time we're in the area.
