The constant noise from other residents was awful, with loud music and talking, and people smoking drugs. Police also turned up. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Avoid this awful place. The owners don’t care how much you complain. 😒

I left early because the place was so dirty, run-down and vile. A drunken man shouted and blasted music all evening while smoking illegal produce. I called the lady to say it was late and ask if she could sort it out. She told me she’d had many calls that night and couldn’t do anything. Absolutely disgusting.

I had booked ahead and stayed one night, 27-28 September 2025, arriving after dark at Alice Guesthouse Cheltenham. The cabin looked like a dilapidated shed and clearly hadn’t been maintained. Its swollen doors left gaps that let cold air in, so I had to keep the heater on all night. In the middle of the night I noticed the bedding was stained and smelled of mould. Disgusting. The bathroom heater didn’t work, making it too cold to shower. The main room lighting was so dim I couldn’t read or safely make a hot drink. The TV didn’t work at first because its antenna wires were disconnected. I had to reconnect them and retune it. I’d been told breakfast was from 07:30 to 09:00, but when I went over, the proprietor said Sunday breakfast wasn’t until 08:00 and turned me away because she had to go out to buy eggs. She, Karen I believe, never asked whether I was happy or comfortable with the accommodation.

Milo, the hosts’ very sweet pup, is in the attached photo. The host was so nice, and the cottage had an idyllic feel, with easy access to the rest of the Cotswolds. I’d certainly come back.
