Enjoy the Pause in heart of Chester - Quiet, 2 min walk to Shops, Cafes, Bars, River, Parks & Attractions

The house itself was impeccably clean and laid out really well, with everything we needed and very comfy beds. It’s beautifully presented too. You’re inside the city walls, within five minutes on foot of lots of restaurants, the cathedral and the river, yet the place is very quiet on a dead end road with no passing traffic. There’s a dedicated private parking spot at the end of the road, about 50 yards away. It’s an ideal place for visiting Chester. I’d happily return or recommend it.

It was beautifully decorated for Christmas, and we couldn’t have asked for more. The property is fantastic, with a superb location that’s quiet but just a three-minute walk from restaurants. There’s free car parking, and it’s eco friendly too. Communication before, during and after our stay was great. We’ll definitely return when we’re back in Chester. Highly recommend.

Paula was quick to reply and really helpful. We loved this holiday home, it was warm, well equipped and had lots of homely touches. Historic attractions were all within walking distance. We’d definitely recommend the property.

Paula was helpful over email, though we didn’t meet in person. My sister and I stayed at The Pause for five days while visiting English relatives, and I’d stay there again if I needed a two-bedroom place in Chester. I felt at home straight away in the terraced house. It’s on a quiet street close to the centre, and the whole place was sparkling clean with a fresh, pleasant feel. The beds were very comfortable, which helped me sleep well while recovering from the overnight flight from Boston. My sister used the yoga equipment each morning.
