Buckingham''S

We had a very nice evening meal, and breakfast was good too. The room was clean, tidy and comfortable. The hosts were accommodating and happy to help with anything. It’s also an easy short walk into town from the hotel.

At 3am, after our stay at the ibis turned noisy and cold, the owners at Buckingham’s Hotel opened up and found us a lovely room. The owner was amazing. Breakfast was just as memorable, with homemade yoghurt, sausages and plenty of complimentary drinks. We’d definitely stay again.

It’s an expensive dinner, though I left happy with the experience. There’s no set menu: you tell the Chef beforehand what you don’t like, and he prepares something you do. Everyone is served the same meal, so fussy eaters might struggle. When the food arrives, the Chef comes over and explains each dish. Some of the cost makes sense once you’ve had the whole experience. I’d bring someone here if I wanted to impress them with something a bit different.

You’re warmly welcomed here, and I slept well. It’s a family-run hotel, which really adds to the stay: the staff are friendly, kind and very helpful. The food is high quality. If you want other options, the town centre is only a few minutes away and has plenty of choice.
