The maple halloumi was delicious, and my wife said it was the best she’d ever tasted. We dropped in on a Saturday afternoon for a light lunch, ordering three tapas dishes and chunky chips. Everything was cooked really well, and the service was friendly and prompt. The inside is very nicely presented. From the outside it doesn’t draw you in quite as much, but don’t let that put you off. We’ll be back soon.

Had a superb evening here. The food was delightful and reasonably priced, and the staff were friendly and sociable. It’s a warm, welcoming little place. I’ll definitely go again and would recommend it to friends and family.

The young man who served us was lovely. My husband and I had an amazing meal yesterday, and we can’t wait to come back and try the Tapas.

Breakfast was a real highlight, freshly made with hot and cold options, and the chef was happy for me to choose what I fancied from the menus. I didn’t fancy many of the listed items, but it seemed nothing was a problem, and it was all very tasty. My room was clean, modern and quiet enough, and the whole stay at The Spread Eagle exceeded what I expected. I’ve saved it for future nights in Chesterfield. I was early for check-in, but they let me leave my suitcase in the room while it was being prepared. That made things much easier, since I was heading to a wedding reception and otherwise would have had to return halfway through after fetching my case from the car. I stayed one night and had a great experience from arrival through breakfast the next morning. Thanks.
