The place felt so homely, and I slept like a baby because it was beautifully decorated and really quiet. There are loads of bars and restaurants just around the corner, and the room was spotless. I liked having a room of my own without daily cleaning, plus utensils for bringing food in. The smell of clean washing when you come through the front door was lovely. The owners were incredibly helpful and accommodating. Staying here made a difficult trip with my sick mum much more relaxing. Thanks, Rooms at Babbacombe. When I’m back in the UK, I know where I’ll stay!

We loved the warm atmosphere and all the thoughtful little touches. The owners were wonderful hosts, and meeting Bertie the tortoise was a particular treat. The scenery around Babbacombe was gorgeous too. We can’t wait to return.

We came for my hen do, and my sister had booked the place for us. We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived: the entrance hall smelled so welcoming, and the family who run it couldn’t do enough for us. The open-plan dining and relaxing area has plenty of seats, plus a tea and coffee station. I run a cleaning business, so I notice these things, and this place was spotless. The bed was the cleanest I’ve slept in at a B&B, with not a mark on it. The pillows were double-lined, and the mattress had a fitted sheet, a cover and its own liner. Towels are provided, and I liked that there were hanging areas instead of wardrobes, which helps keep dust down. Upstairs, there’s a box of forgotten essentials like shampoo and shower gel, and a fridge with extra milk in case you’ve used what’s in your room. My room had everything I needed, including a mini fridge with milk, a fan that was very welcome on such a hot weekend, and tea and coffee supplies. I wouldn’t have minded a couple of biscuit packs, but I understand extras cost money and the rooms are reasonably priced. A plug by the bed would have been handy for charging my phone, though using the socket by the bathroom worked out fine since the fan was plugged in by the kettle. You need to book breakfast ahead, and it was absolutely worth it. The portions were huge, so we didn’t need anything else until tea time, when we had a cream tea at angels on our hosts’ recommendation. We’ll definitely return. Thanks for making us feel so welcome.

Everything was spotless, and there was a lovely smell as soon as you walked in. The owners were polite and welcoming, and the lounge was spacious and comfortable. It’s a cheap and cheerful place, but the extras made it a particularly good stay: plates and cutlery for eating takeaway, a little bottle of fresh milk in the room fridge, and tea, coffee, sugar and hot chocolate in jars to keep them fresh. There’s even an espresso machine in the lounge, along with glasses for your own cold drinks. It was my first stay here, and we’ll be back.

The cottage and conservatory are so artistic and lovely, with a bright, airy feel. It was clean and really felt like a dream. The hosts are wonderful, friendly people with great local advice. Everything we needed was there and good quality, and the food was superb too. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. The cottage has underfloor heating and an Aga, and the whole place was a delight. Thanks, Luke and Rebecca. We’ll definitely return.
