Apuldram Manor

The cottage was clean, self-contained and had all the amenities we needed. The rooms were spacious and the beds comfortable. Some of the decor and finish are a little dated and worn, though with a dog or small children that may not matter much, and could even be a plus. The farm is beautifully kept, and you can visit the horses. Its location is amazing, just minutes from the beach and close to lots of lovely walks. We had a great stay and will be back.

The gardens and setting were stunning. Four of us were passing on bikes in the early evening and tried our luck at getting two rooms. The owner came out and seemed a little offish. The place looked lively but empty, though there were no rooms available. I’ll definitely try booking online next time, but maybe won’t turn up in cycling gear.

Rose Cottage was exceptional, and we had a lovely weekend in a beautiful area. The Crown and Anchor, with its wonderful views, is an easy walk away. I arrived after dark, and my only tip is to make sure you go in through the electric bar gate. Otherwise you’ll be on the very potholed road, which does get you there but could damage your vehicle.

We slept so quietly in a large room, and the manor house was fabulous. The hosts were lovely and breakfast was great. It’s a beautiful spot near the sea, with a fantastic gastro pub just a ten-minute walk away. Wonderful value. Thank you!
