The warm pool was lovely, and we were lucky to have it to ourselves for our little baby's first swim on his first break away. We stayed with friends at Bruern cottages in the beautiful Bookers cottage. The gardens were great, with a really good-sized kitchen and lounge for everyone, and comfortable beds. The welcome gift hamper was a lovely touch. We loved it and will be back around Christmas. 10/10.

We had a superb two-night stay with another family and three toddlers between us. Bookers was much bigger than it looked in the photos, very clean and fantastically set up. There were high chairs, bed protectors and a toy chest ready for us, plus an incredible welcome pack with champagne and other goodies. We spent a day on site enjoying the pool, play room and huge gardens, with fun for all ages. A great find, and we'll certainly return!

Aintree is a three-bedroom house, and they have thought of everything for a comfortable stay. The welcome pack was brilliant and really tasty, and we enjoyed the champagne on arrival. We loved the house, especially the open fire. The grounds are beautiful and well kept. The Cotswolds attractions are easy to reach from this stunning place. We spent lots of time in the pool with our five- and eight-year-old, and I even got a little time in the gym. We also stayed in the games room for several hours.

We loved the pool, warm even on rainy days, and the kitchen and appliances were among the best we've experienced. Bruern feels like a magical home away from home, just the sort of English countryside cottage you might dream about. The welcome basket was generous, with champagne and lovely local food: seed bread from mor, artisanal butter, luxury black cow cheddar and more. The antiques have stories to them without feeling intimidating. It's a perfect base for exploring the Cotswolds. We can't say enough good things and highly recommend it.

We had a great time at Aintree, which is well equipped, nicely done and ideal for families. The countryside setting is beautiful, with a great location and brilliant on-site things like the pool, gardens and loads of toys for children. It's upmarket but relaxed, and the welcome pack has plenty of yummy food. My tip is to walk along the Oxfordshire way path opposite to see the rear of Bruern Abbey. Amazing! My reservation is that the prices suggest a luxury finish, but some parts of the house felt old and some of the grounds seemed unloved. The bathroom has a lovely finish, but the old towel rail and shower spoil the feel. The pool area is nearly amazing, but could use tidying and fresh paint. It would feel right if the price were lower or the finish more polished. Still, it's a strong choice for a family or group holiday.
