The Longmynd

The free car park is a reasonable size, and it’s about a 10 minute walk to the railway station, uphill, or to the town centre bus stops. Bedrooms were comfortable and well furnished, and there are lots of shared rooms, including a bar. Staff were friendly throughout. Meals are at set times and need to be preordered, as is the HF way. Packed lunches come from a wide selection of fillings, bars and fruit.

The heated boot room came in handy during our walking week. There was a great range of walks, with excellent leaders, and we had everything we needed and more for a really enjoyable stay.

A great base in beautiful countryside for walking or cycling, whether you’re travelling as a group, a couple or on your own. The rooms are comfortable, the staff friendly and attentive, and the food menus are varied and excellent. Packed lunches are available for days out too.

The restaurant has panoramic views, and mirrors mean you can enjoy the whole scene even when your back is turned to the windows. Food was up to the usual good standard, with plenty of breakfast options, good packed lunch choices, and a three course evening meal. There were also quiz and skittle nights, plus lovely walks. This was my first visit to this HF Holiday hotel.
