The snow made the landscape feel even more magical, and the welcome hamper with their own eggs was such a lovely touch. We were a group of 18 celebrating my father in law’s 60th, and after another host let us down with a cottage we’d booked, Dan & Lesley came to our rescue. They were brilliant with communication and even gave us a private look around their smallholding, with the children helping feed the animals. The place was cosy and just right for all of us. Thanks so much, we’d love to come back and see Rio & Romeo the alpacas!

The animals were a nice extra, and Dan and Les were great hosts, easy to reach when we needed them but happy to leave us to enjoy our time. They communicated clearly and gave us all the details we needed. Ivy cottage is a lovely spot for a few days away, especially for sitting in the hot tub under the night sky.

My daughter was up at 7.30am, excited to help Les feed the alpacas, goats, rabbits and geese, among other animals. We felt so at home at Beech Lodge at Wellstone cottages and hated having to leave. The lodge had everything we needed, and the grounds were gorgeous. Les and Dan were so helpful from the moment I booked. In the evening, the outdoor space and hot tub were a lovely place to unwind, and the clear skies made for beautiful stargazing. We can’t wait to come back.

The cottage was spotless, gorgeous, and had everything we could need, with beautiful views. There was a booking mix-up when we arrived for our one-night stay, but Les sorted it straight away. She was a lovely host and nothing felt like too much trouble. Spending the sunset evening by the hot tub with the alpacas was lovely. I can’t fault anything and can’t wait to return. We had a tremendous time at the property, enjoying the grounds and facilities with my friends. Dan & Les were attentive and lovely hosts, and the welcome basket was a nice touch. Their communication was great, from asking about stay options right through to the morning we left. I’d recommend staying here without hesitation. Thanks again.
