The staff on site were very friendly, and the Inn is a great spot close to Bassenthwaite Lake. We really enjoyed the excellent food in the dining room, though it was very busy even on a Tuesday in February, so booking an evening table is encouraged. The cooked breakfast was fabulous too, and the rooms were clean and comfortable with the usual amenities. The only downside was the 10:30am checkout. I’d highly recommend visiting in late winter or early spring, before the crowds take over the Lake District.

The staff made us feel at home, greeting us warmly and checking in during our stay. The atmosphere was lovely and clean, and it felt like a perfect little getaway. We had two fantastic nights, and the food was top-notch. The Venison Cottage Pie was especially delicious and hearty. I’d definitely come back and try more of the vegetarian options on the menu.

We had a great stay and will definitely return. All the staff were amazing, and the food was absolutely delicious at both dinner and breakfast. You can help yourself to water at the end of the bar from a beer tap, which is quite fun, especially with children. We booked at the last minute for a night away and were so glad we did. Our cozy double room was small, just as described, but perfect for the relaxing night we needed. It had a safe, an iron and ironing board, and spare pillows. The bed was very comfortable, and the blackout curtains made for a perfect night’s sleep. The shower temperature did drop once. I mentioned it at reception as we were leaving, and they couldn’t apologize enough. They said to let them know if it happened again, as they could try rebooting it and sort the issue.

Everyone was so welcoming, and the place had a warm feel to it. We had a brilliant two-night stay and are already looking forward to coming back. Our room was roomy and spotless, with really comfortable bedding that helped us sleep so well.
