The Gildhall

The setting is idyllic, and I’ve stayed at this brilliant property several times, enjoying it very much each time. Chris, the estate manager, is fantastically helpful. I’d thoroughly recommend it.

The dogs loved the garden and the huge adjoining parkland, and we enjoyed visiting some lovely villages nearby. The cottage was delightful, warm and cosy, with plenty of space. Everything was super clean and comfortable, and the welcome pack was very generous. We had a wonderful time and thoroughly recommend it.

This was our fifth stay at The Gildhall in Higham, and we’re already looking forward to the next one. It’s hard to leave. The views and walks from its own park and beyond are lovely, and my dogs enjoy every minute, running around the grounds before coming in for a cosy kip in front of the aga. The thatched period cottage is beautiful, warm and comfortable. Every room is tastefully appointed and furnished for comfort. The kitchen is lovely to cook in, well equipped, and the scrubbed table is a pleasure to eat at. Thank you, Charlie and Chris.

The countryside nearby is lovely, with walks to Dedham and Flatford Mill. It’s a warm, comfortable cottage, and the adjoining parkland is beautiful and a real bonus if you have dogs. The gardens and grounds are very well maintained.
