The bathroom upstairs was lovely, and the downstairs renovation is clearly done to a high standard. The owners have thought of a lot. But the upstairs doors kept swinging open, and all three need attention. It was awkward with my brother in the next room, and they should stay shut at night because of the fire risk. The smaller bedroom had mould on its duvet. There was only an airing cupboard and a bedside drawer for clothes, but the cottage's spare bedding and towels were stored there, leaving no room. The mattress and pillow protectors were blood stained and badly needed replacing. We expected tricky parking and some ordinary town noise, since we stay in Whitby every year. What we didn't expect was a butcher's shop three doors away operating 24 hours. The chopping and trolleys rattling over cobbles to the vans made it horrendous to sleep. A man from up the lane also kept blocking the road with his car and letting his dog foul the street, including right outside the cottage door. I got it sorted within a few hours after confronting him days later and making him pick up the mess. He said he lived there and wasn't a tourist. He's been mentioned in a review from years ago too. You don't want to smell, see, or stand in that while on holiday. This part was outside the owners' control, but if you need the man's address, let me know.

Being right in the centre of Conway makes the cottage handy, with amenities and transport close by. That central spot also brought some downsides for us. The backyard faces a pub's beer garden, so there's noise, and people using the street as a shortcut to and from the town centre woke us on most nights.

I've been back about five times since 2016. It's right in the middle of everything, handy for the shops, harbour and castle. The accommodation is lovely, clean as can be and comfortable, and it's great having so many walks and places to explore with our dog. There's always a lovely welcome package too.

We shared the cottage with our daughter and her friend, and there was plenty of room to cook together and sit comfortably. The beds were comfortable too. On arrival, they had left milk, tea bags, Welsh cakes and a bara brith loaf for us. It's spacious and close to all the town centre amenities, with its lovely mix of interesting shops and places to eat.

A lovely place to stay if you're exploring the Conwy area. It's ideally located just off the main High Street.
