The welcome was the standout. Everyone was so friendly, and I was genuinely touched to receive a little anniversary gift. It felt like real hospitality, not something done for show. We stayed one night with our two dogs in Osprey, a spacious room with an en suite. The fresh, clean bedding was lovely, and there was plenty of room for clothes, with hanging space and cubby holes. The bathroom could do with a bit of updating. The pub is close to the train station and an easy walk from the village. Breakfast was tasty and very good value, though I know it was out of season. We had bacon, egg, mushrooms, sausage, beans, tomato and toast, with cereal, tea, coffee and juice also available. The bar felt cosy and welcoming, and the ladies were decorating for Christmas. We had dinner booked in Corbridge, so didn't have a drink there, but we'd certainly visit the bar next time. The staff put so much effort into making guests feel welcome.

The staff were really welcoming, and breakfast was good. Our large room was straightforward and no nonsense. We stayed for one night before getting an Uber to Vine restaurant.

Three visits in a row now and this place has been a waste of time. There was no food, and on two occasions they had run out of beer. The staff and chef seem to change constantly. On a 28 degree bank holiday, there were only four people inside and no canopies in the beer garden. Word is obviously getting around.

We stayed overnight in our VW California Ocean and stopped for a few drinks. They weren't serving food, so we went to the Valley at the end of the road instead. The pub was quiet, and the bar staff gave us a warm welcome. Thanks for being so hospitable.

The food was great, and the place is very dog friendly. They managed to fit our family in despite being busy and short staffed, and couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful. A lovely meal, highly recommend.
