Poplar House

Suzanne gave us a warm welcome, and breakfast was outstanding, with cereals, pastries, cheeses and a cooked option. The house was spotless, with a gorgeous bedroom and an extremely comfortable bed. There’s a large bathroom with both a bath and shower, and all the amenities you need. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

My family were delighted with their stay here. The owners were also very happy to have my ushers and me join them for breakfast during the time of our wedding. We can’t comment on the beds, but if they’re as good as the breakfast, they must be fantastic. The food was delicious, generous, varied and freshly prepared by a very friendly family. It was an intimate yet spacious setting, and the perfect wedding breakfast for all of us, in the ordinary breakfast sense! Thank you so much. My family will be back, and I’ll be calling to see if I can join them again.

My daughter Maddie and I came from Australia and spent four nights at Poplar House, Bath, from 27th until 31st December 2017. The room high up in the house was wonderful, with a full bathroom and a magical view of the countryside from the windows. Our hosts looked after us beautifully, and every part of our stay was perfect. Breakfast was generous and exquisite, with wonderful fruit salad and other surprises, as well as excellent coffee, tea and juices. This authentic, beautiful 17th/18th century home on the edge of Bath comes highly recommended. We hope to return one day.

We’d have liked to stay longer. The host was very friendly, breakfast was lovely, and the rooms felt homely while still being luxurious. It’s a beautiful guest house in a quiet, convenient location, and the rooms are nicely decorated.
