We found this a handy place to stop for the night, with a few food options nearby. The rooms were clean, tea and coffee were provided, breakfast was nice, and they managed to tuck our motorcycles away safely at the side. The couple running it were lovely and clearly doing their best. It’s a quirky hotel that could use a bit of TLC, though. The main gripe was that the heating wasn’t on, so drying our kit and warming up was a struggle.

The room turned out clean and comfortable, and breakfast was well catered, despite our first concerns. This is a small guest house in a good spot, run by a caring, helpful couple who are working hard to get the historic hotel going again. We were glad to support them and would happily stay again if we’re back in the area. Good luck to you both!

The rooms have a quirky feel and the basics you need, but they haven’t been updated and the hotel could use some TLC. Parking is very limited, the stairs up to the room are steep, and facilities are sparse.

The apartment has potential, but the condition and mould made for a really poor stopover. Walking in, we were hit by a horrible damp, mouldy smell, and there was a large mould patch on the ceiling. We found spare bedding in a cupboard, only to see mould on the duvets too. The coat hook rack in that cupboard even looked as if mushrooms were growing from it. The finish is terrible. I wouldn’t stay there again unless it had been deep cleaned completely.

The location is lovely and the rooms were clean, with toilets and a kitchen. The staff were lovely, and the price was very affordable. I couldn't recommend the Crown Hotel more!
