We’ve just come back from two weeks in Coverack, including two Sunday lunches with family and friends. This was our seventh stay in the beautiful village, and the Paris is right at its heart. We love it and make a point of supporting it, visiting every day when we’re here. The staff were welcoming, professional and interested in their visitors this year. The team did a great job, with amazing home-cooked meals in a beautiful setting. See you again in 2027. Kev and Kate.

I haven’t stayed here, so can’t say anything about the rooms. The bay views are stunning, and I appreciate seeing local beers on offer instead of the usual big brands. The food was satisfactory, but it took nearly an hour to arrive, and bar or kitchen staff said very little about the delay. When we went to pay, the bill was simply left on the counter and nobody asked how things had gone. It felt like a pay-and-go visit rather than an invitation to stay and enjoy the place.

What made this place stand out for me was how welcome we felt. I’ve never had a kinder or more hospitable greeting down here. Maybe that’s no surprise with a Kiwi owner, possibly the nicest folk on Earth, and a Geordie barmaid who welcomed us with a drink on the house. We had lovely views from the bedroom, great beer, a cracking atmosphere and incredible seafood in the restaurant. There are plenty of lovely hotels in amazing Cornwall locations, but I’ll definitely be back here.

We’ve been coming to the Paris Hotel for food and drinks during our Coverack and Lizard holidays for the last five years. I still can’t decide whether it’s the fantastic view, the food or the service, but the pints of rattler cider disappear very quickly. The beer-battered cod and chips deserve a special mention. The batter’s light, not thick and oily, the cod is scrumptious, and the chips are a 127/10: crispy and brown outside, fluffy and delicious inside. The peas and homemade tartar sauce go perfectly with them. A must for visitors. We haven’t stayed in the rooms, so can’t rate them, but we hope to try one next year. If the food and drink are anything to go by, it should be a winner.
