Room two had great views of the hills, and the dinner was, I'd bet, much better than anything for many miles around. Breakfast was great too. The former hunting lodge still has a bit of that Edwardian 'under stairs' vibe, with a cool modern makeover. If you're nearby and fancy a good meal and a room for the night, I wouldn't hesitate.

We arrived earlier than expected after five days of hiking and were exhausted, but the staff graciously let us relax outside in the sunshine and lovely surroundings. My friend and I had an amazing one-night stay at suie hunting lodge. Dinner later that evening was AMAZING, and the hostesses were so kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We loved our short stay and would 100% return if we found ourselves back in Scotland.

Room 1 was just right for us, beautifully decorated and a room we’d happily book every visit. The bathroom was enormous, with a fantastic shower and a bath by the window. For a room like this, you'd expect to pay double at a chain hotel. Breakfast was wonderful, especially the scrambled egg, and it was lovely to choose from different coffees instead of getting the usual cafetière. The hotel itself is beautiful, and although it’s on the main road, traffic never disturbed us. That also made getting to Killin quick and easy. Pauline and Robbie were fantastic hosts, accommodating our request for an earlier check-in. Their emails before we arrived were lovely and professional. We can’t praise the hotel enough. Thanks so much, Pauline and Robbie. We'll be back soon!

The rooms at Suie Lodge are huge, and we loved the comfortable bed and beautifully finished bath and shower. We had dinner there one night and it was delicious, with generous portions. The dining room had a lovely atmosphere too. If you come across this place, online or by chance, run, don't walk!

The hotel itself is lovely, with thoughtfully chosen furnishings and good food, despite being beside a busy road. But our stay turned into a really upsetting experience because of how the owners handled a problem. On our second night we were in the so-called suit room. Around 10:15 a.m. on checkout morning, we used the room moisturizer and both reacted badly straight away. My partner’s neck and shoulders swelled, and my whole body went red, swollen, and burning. We jumped into the shower to try to calm it down. At 10:40, while we were still recovering and getting dressed, the male owner knocked and rudely told us to leave without even coming in. We told him what had happened; he let out a loud sigh and walked away. The female owner came about ten minutes later. We explained again and showed her our swollen necks, but she seemed concerned only that we were “late” checking out. If nothing goes wrong, you might enjoy the place. But when we needed some understanding, we got none. I travel often and have never been treated with such rudeness or disregard by hotel staff.
