We had a lovely birthday break, staying on July 18th and 19th. Our Van Gogh room was huge, with a sofa and a lovely en-suite bathroom with a bath. We couldn’t get the TV to work, but we hadn’t come to watch TV, so it wasn’t a deal breaker. Breakfast had loads of choice, and I especially loved the fresh berries and fruit compote. The family and cook gave us a great welcome, and the B&B is conveniently located in town near every amenity.

The bedroom and bathroom were clean and inviting, and we especially loved the bathtub and its lovely window view. Art fills the cosy, relaxing surroundings, making the Art Bank feel inspiring as well as comfortable. Mandy and her team were generous, warm and welcoming hosts. We were delighted by the breakfast too. It was delicious and had such a wide choice, easily the best either of us has ever had at a B&B or hotel. This was our first stay, and we’ll definitely return.

I went home feeling relaxed and recharged, and I’d love to return to try the other two rooms. As a vegan, I was surprised by how well catered for I was, even getting a full Scottish vegan breakfast. There was so much to choose from, including fruit, cereal, bread and jams, I wanted to try it all. Mandy Nicholson welcomed me warmly at the front door, showed me around the Art bank, then took me to the amazing Van Gogh room. The attention to detail was incredible, and I was very comfortable, especially in the double bed and big yellow velvet chair. I could even choose different pillows to try. Breakfast was delicious. A huge thank you to Mandy for a wonderful stay.

Every part of this place is art, and I loved seeing the artwork throughout the building. The rooms are cosy and beautiful, and the food was delicious and home cooked. I also liked how quickly the rooms were tidied while we ate breakfast. It’s such a lovely space to relax in. Never expected anything less from Mandy. I highly recommend it for a relaxing night away or an art retreat. You’re in great hands, and I definitely want to visit again.

The Van Gogh room was big, clean and cosy, and Mandy gave us a lovely warm welcome. Breakfast was brilliant, with a huge selection of extras like fruit, Greek yogurt, oats, sauces and condiments. We stayed this past weekend and would definitely like to come again, hopefully without Eowyn’s 80mph winds 🤣
