Savera Hotel

The rooms could do with a small update, but being right beside South Ruislip station is a real plus. We stayed for three weeks and had a wonderful time. Sachin at reception was brilliant from our first meeting, quickly picked up on what we like to eat and helped us choose dishes we’d enjoy. Vijay looked after us well throughout the stay too. The staff were so friendly, and I’ll definitely come back to Ruislip when I get the chance.

The buffet lunch was tasty, with enough choices for everyone to graze through most of the afternoon. We held a hen-do for twelve of us on a Saturday at the end of November, using the meeting room. Sachin helped us settle on the layout and how to use the space, and it worked perfectly. He and Charlotte were great support on the day, so the event went really well. Thanks to Samar and Sachin for making it such a good one.

Breakfast came with the room, but it was only continental, so a full English cost extra. Some staff were nice, others less so, and the service felt inconsistent. We were there for two nights for a family wedding and reception at the Crown Conference Centre. The room and ensuite were dated and needed more than a quick coat of paint. A door closer stopped the wardrobe doors from opening properly, and the room felt depressing. There was loud talking and shouting until about 4:30/5am, so we barely got any rest. The mixed grill I ordered at the ground-floor bar was bland and below average. Worse, the chicken was raw. I reported it to Sachin, who took it back and checked with the chef, who confirmed it was raw. The server offered another piece of chicken, but I said I didn’t want any more food and asked for a refund. He said they don’t do refunds and offered to pay for my drink instead. I’d had enough to drink and wanted my money back because the food was raw, but he wouldn’t refund me and gave me a drink. That was very unprofessional, given the risk of someone getting seriously ill. They haven’t done themselves any favours.

Ruislip has plenty to do nearby. There’s a cinema a 10-minute walk away, and lots of good restaurants for different tastes. Lebo does great Lebanese food, and the staff there are brilliant. You’ll also find familiar high-street cafes and shops. Westfield London is 15 minutes away, and Central London takes about 30 minutes on the Central Line, right beside the hotel. I’ve stayed at the Savera four times and it’s never disappointed me. It feels warm and welcoming, and it’s spotless. The rooms are a bit old-fashioned but have a cosy charm. The staff are polite, professional and always willing to help. I eat at the hotel sometimes too. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the food is really tasty and beautifully cooked. The spaghetti bolognese is amazing, and the Chef and his staff, including Csila, go the extra mile to make it an enjoyable experience.
