The Royal Victoria & Bull Hotel

The bathrooms are fine to use, but they’re starting to look old and could do with some attention. Apart from that, the rooms are spacious, clean and nicely decorated. We were along the corridor above the bar and couldn’t hear it at all. There’s food at a reasonable price too. I’d stay again.

The staff were really nice, and breakfast was filling and so good. We stayed here as a family and loved the whole stay. The rooms were very comfortable, and I liked that they had quadruple rooms, which you don’t often come across. Such a lovely touch that the suites are named after the Bennett sisters from Pride and Prejudice. It's a quirky little pub and hotel, and I’d recommend it to anyone.

I only came in for a drink this time, though I used to visit all the time. The food was average at best. This time I saw an older couple order food and get no check-back. When the server asked if everything was okay after they’d finished, they said the chips were a bit cold. The server just said, “ok”? I’m sitting between the fireplace and pool table now and saw a little mouse run across. I know it’s an old building and that this might be hard to prevent, and it wasn’t in the kitchen. But the customer service is an issue.

Quick service, and the food came out fast with good-sized portions. The pub was nice and clean, the staff were professional, and there was a great selection of reasonably priced food on the menu.
