The hotel’s location was perfect. The queue at reception was quite long because staff were extremely busy, though they were lovely. Breakfast was well organised and mostly nice, but the cooked food was rather greasy. The room was disgusting. The shower was coated in mould and rust, and just looked dirty. Things were coming away from the ceiling, which felt dangerous, and there were marks on the curtain. The peephole was completely visible. You need a key card to use the lift. Mine stopped working at one point, so we had to wait for someone to come out before we could get in.

The staff were friendly, professional and helpful, and breakfast had a fresh, well organised selection that was great to start the day with. The room was quiet and set up well for a good night’s sleep. The hotel felt clean, modern and comfortable, with a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Check-in was quick and smooth, too. Lonely Traveler Productions enjoyed the stay and would happily recommend Leonardo Hotel Derby for a business or leisure trip.

I haven’t stayed here, but it’s a nice quiet spot to meet friends or have a business chat. The lounge by the bar is spacious, with comfortable seats, and the place was spotless when I visited. They serve some nice coffees and drinks, and the coffee was good. Just no alternative milk.

We got an upgrade and late checkout as Advantage Club members, which made the stay much more relaxing. The hotel staff were great, and so were the people I spoke to on the phone beforehand. They were attentive and did a lovely job helping me sort out some details. Thanks to everyone we met.

The restaurant was a pleasant surprise, and we had two very good evening meals there. My room was a little tired but super comfortable and quiet enough. The gym was decent too.
