I had a great night's rest at the Stables, and the room was super comfy for a great price. There wasn't a cooked breakfast, as advertised, but what was provided was exactly what I wanted. I'll stay at the Stables again when I'm back in the area.

Calke Abbey is just a minute away, which made this a handy place for our overnight stay. The apartment was warm and cosy, with a double bed, a table and chairs, plus a separate single bedroom off the kitchen. There was cereal and milk, tea and coffee, and the kitchen had a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. The bathroom felt modern, with a new shower that worked well. Breakfast at the cafe next door was included, and the cooked breakfast was really nice. I’d happily stay again if I’m in the area.

A great family stopover, with two rooms for the price of one. We had a friendly welcome and a lovely breakfast in the cafe next door, plus proper coffee and cereal in the kitchenette. Much better than a chain hotel for us. What’s not to like?

The seating was pretty basic and a bit cold, but the eggs were cooked perfectly. There’s a good menu too, with cheaper options like flapjacks.

We felt at home as soon as we arrived. Debby and Martin were so welcoming, and I’d highly recommend the place for a peaceful getaway.
