My room smelled strongly of sewage. Their answer was to spray an excessive amount of air freshener, even though an asthmatic person was staying in the room. That was completely unacceptable. I also had nearly £200 wrongly charged in parking fees because staff wrote down my registration incorrectly, despite me showing them a photo of the number plate. It took months to sort out, and they showed very little concern throughout. An awful experience from start to finish.

The room was clean and warm, and there was plenty of parking outside. Breakfast was good, the staff were friendly and helpful, and it was good value for money.

The staff were excellent throughout, and the food was really good. I was warmly welcomed when I arrived at Pride Park Travelodge, and that friendly feeling continued through my visit. The room was great, the shower hot, and the bed so comfortable I almost slept in, something I haven't done in decades. I'll definitely stay here again.

On my first Travelodge visit, I stayed the night before taking my car to Derby Audi for a service, as I live 25 miles from the dealership. The room had several problems: wallpaper peeling above the bed, shoe prints on the windowsill, the desk edging strip coming loose, no pop-up plug in the basin, and the toilet paper holder hanging off the wall. The bathroom extractor fan was filthy, and there was constant road noise despite the double glazing. I told someone at reception, who said it was their second day on the job, took notes, and said they'd pass the issues on. Breakfast was an even bigger letdown. I was in the breakfast room at 7 am, but the hot food was only tepid, the bacon had white sum on it, the croissants were stale, and the dispenser's fruit juice tasted like water. They also didn't have Earl Grey tea bags. The stay was very disappointing, and customer service never replied to my formal complaint. I won't be staying at a Travelodge any time soon.

The staff were pleasant, helpful, and easy to talk to when I had questions. Parking cost an extra £3 per night, and you could only add three days at a time. That seemed good value compared with a nearby hotel where my mate stayed, which charged £12 a night, though it could be free for customers. There was some road noise in the late evening, but that's to be expected here. The room was good value overall, and I'd stay again. It was hot, though, and could use air conditioning. The corridor's automatic lights stayed on, so I put a towel on the floor to stop light coming into the room. The door didn't block light or noise from other customers. The bed was big and comfortable, but the shower wasn't great, with too little water coming out of the large shower head. The sink plug was too big for its hole. Breakfast was terrible for me: the bacon, beans, and scrambled egg were lukewarm at best, and not worth what I paid. I didn't complain, just ate elsewhere for the rest of my stay.
