Premier Inn Derry / Londonderry

Really enjoyed the stay: the rooms were clean and comfy, the staff friendly, and the food excellent. It would be a big help if they added some EV chargers.

Parking was plentiful and easy to use with a truck, and the adjoining pub was good, with a lovely breakfast. The staff were friendly too. This hotel feels a step above many others I’ve stayed in, with fresh rooms and very nice bathrooms.

We’ll probably come back next year. We like walking into Derry and exploring the lovely riverside walks, and the train trip to Belfast is highly recommended. There are plenty of good pubs and bars too. The hotel is on the outskirts of Londonderry, with a large retail park about a ten-minute walk to the right along the main road. Craig's supermarket, a fuel station, a chippy and Chinese food are just in front. Sam, Gareth and the team do a great job keeping the place in top condition and are always willing to help. Our Premier upgrade room had two nice chairs, a fridge, an iron and ironing board, handy for the few days we often stay, and it was very clean. The one thing we didn’t like was the air conditioning and sealed windows. We prefer being able to open windows, as in many Premier Inns.

The staff were really welcoming, and I stayed over the Halloween weekend. My room was clean, but the shower needs a new seal because the floor got completely soaked every time I used it. The bar staff were okay and the drinks were lovely. Food was hit and miss. There wasn’t much choice at breakfast, and the fried eggs I tried on the first morning had a strange slimy coating, so I avoided them for the rest of my stay. I also had lunch there in the afternoons and ordered chicken wings, but the presentation could use some work. The staff were lovely, though the food needs improvement.
