Borthwen B&B

The hosts, Colin and Lisa, were incredible and nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was the best I’ve had. The B&B was spotless and comfortable, with spectacular views. I can’t fault it and will definitely return.

Borthwen is in a quiet spot, and the hosts were friendly and welcoming. My bedroom was immaculate and the bed extremely comfortable. The natural yogurt and fruit at breakfast were lovely, and the meal was nice on the whole. The cooked breakfast was okay, though the sausages were very pale and had an unusual texture. I’d have preferred good-quality bread toasted instead of steamed supermarket bread, proper butter, and cafetiere coffee rather than instant. Those little details make a big difference. There were no biscuits in the room with the tea and coffee, so I went out and bought some myself. It wasn’t a problem. I was woken at 3am on two occasions by railway workers returning to the B&B after a night shift. Still, I had a pleasant stay.

A peaceful night in a fantastic location with great views. The hosts are charming, and the place is spotlessly clean. I’d recommend it to anyone.

A friendly welcome at this lovely family-run B&B. The en-suite rooms were immaculate and well stocked, with a little touch of luxury and great views over the valley. It’s an easy walk into the village.
