The staff were really friendly during my few nights in a room above the pub. I didn’t eat there because I follow a special diet, so I can’t comment on the food. It was a pleasant stay.

We booked one night through Booking.com, but the manager hadn’t updated the site after letting another customer stay an extra night, so we were double-booked. It’s been 12 days and we still haven’t received our refund. Now they’re telling us to wait until 1 October, and they won’t answer Booking.com either. That’s no way to run a business.

Vicky and the team made a difficult day much easier when we held a wake at the Ingram Arms after a service at Hatfield church next door. Vicky, the manager, was thoughtful, helpful, and accommodating throughout. The pub’s semi-private area gave us a good amount of space and privacy, and the atmosphere felt relaxed and welcoming. They arranged a lovely memorial table with the personal items we’d dropped off and served the menu we chose without any fuss. The buffet was excellent: fresh sandwiches, quiche, pork pies, sausage rolls, crudités, and hot options, followed by tea, coffee, sweets, cakes, and scones. Everything was well organised, so we could spend time with family instead of worrying about the details. Huge thanks to Vicky and everyone there. Highly recommend.

I liked the peaceful village feel and the outdoor seating at the Ingram Arms, especially on a sunny day. They also put on quiz nights and live music, which adds a community feel. Inside, it has classic wooden decor and a warm, traditional pub atmosphere, with friendly, attentive staff who make you feel at home. There’s a good choice of beers and ales, including local options, along with wines and spirits. The menu covers hearty pub favourites like pies, fish and chips, and Sunday roasts, served in generous portions. In the heart of Hatfield, it’s a comfortable place to meet for a meal or a drink, or just unwind.

I’ve been coming to this pub since I was a kid with my dad, and the new owners and team greeted me so warmly this weekend. Everyone was friendly, especially Jack behind the bar. One lovely woman even cooked food for me to take up to my room, though she really didn’t have to. Such a thoughtful gesture. The place had a calm, welcoming feel, and I was taught a card trick that gave us all a good laugh. I’ve rarely felt so welcome. The whole team were amazing, and I’d recommend this place highly.
