The food was what you'd expect from pub grub, service was easy to get, and we didn't wait long. But cleanliness needs attention. Our table was clearly still dirty from the previous diners, so we moved. The table beside us sat for an hour with dirty plates and glasses on it, and the disabled toilet was dirty and needed a deep clean. They should clean better and clear tables sooner.

A good Spoons and a perfect hotel. The rooms were better than I expected, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. It's right in the town centre. If all you want is a beer and a comfy bed, you don't even need to leave the building.

My Grandma and I had a lovely breakfast and ate every bit. We asked for the eggs well done and they arrived just as requested. Seeing the place busy is a good sign, and the service was great too. We even had a cheeky pint at 2.59, what a steal! We'll definitely be back.

I usually go to The Gate House up the road when I'm in Doncaster, but tried this place for a change and was really impressed. I sat by the window on my own, with a view into the kitchen. Had a pint of Worthington's, a small bowl of chips and a Millennium Shortbread with ice cream, toffee sauce and extra Belgian chocolate. Gorgeous.

We were close to everything in town, just about a minute's walk away, and the room was completely quiet. My husband booked us two nights at The Red Lion 🦁, in room 102, and we loved it. The room was lovely, and the bathroom and shower were amazing. Along with tea and coffee facilities, there was hot chocolate, two bottles of water and packets of biscuits, which even many larger private or chain hotels don't offer. The lady in charge was lovely, and the staff made our stay enjoyable. Great hotel, fabulous team. Thank you, Team Red Lion 🦁. We'll definitely return.
