The woman in charge was friendly and served a good breakfast. The downsides were tired decor, noisy plumbing, and mold in the shower. Worst of all, loud music and noisy customers carried on in the bar until after 3am, so sleep was impossible. The worst hotel stay ever.

Breakfast was fantastic, the bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to get up, and the shower had great pressure. Sue, the owner, even drove me to the station when I couldn’t get a taxi. The place gave me everything I wanted, and I liked my stay. First impressions were of an old pub with old rooms, but I got a friendly greeting. It’s centrally located and surprisingly quiet, apart from the sea chicken chorus in the morning. It’s not a 5 star hotel, but it deserved the 5 star rating I gave it.

The staff were lovely, and so was breakfast. My room was clean and tidy, with clean bedding. There was some noise from the bar below and the plumbing. Maybe the earplugs on the tea tray were a hint! I’d stay again if I needed somewhere for one night.

Worst hotel I’ve ever been to. The WiFi doesn’t work, and apparently hasn’t for over two years. The noise was horrendous until 3.30am, so sleep was impossible. Do NOT book!

The room was clean and comfortable, with everything I needed, and the cooked breakfast helped me get over the lack of sleep the next day. But don’t expect a quiet night, especially on a weekend. On Saturday the busy bar downstairs stayed open until 02:30 with loud music, and I couldn’t sleep until the revellers had left after 3am. The WiFi was included, but a bit unreliable. Would I stay again? Only on a weeknight.
