Edith made such a lovely impression on me that I changed my plan to stay just one night and extended it. She’s the receptionist, bartender, and seems to take care of everything. The room was immaculate, the view incredible, and the railway and bus stop are both close by. I’m glad I didn’t choose a more luxurious hotel, the service here felt world class. I only wish there had been a bathtub, though the shower was great. Thank you, Edith. I’ll bring my boyfriends next time, not both at once, haha. You made an indelible mark.

The steak dinner was delicious and generous, and breakfast was really good too. Compliments to the chef and staff. Our room had a lovely sea view, and the whole place was immaculate. The location was great as well. Just a tiny thing, a bell or buzzer in the hall would help new arrivals get a staff member’s attention. I’d definitely book again if I need somewhere in lovely Dunbar.

The barmaid deserves a special mention for being efficient and professional. I was welcomed by a lovely, bubbly receptionist who let me know the Hilltop Hotel had a vacancy that evening, which was great after I’d just come from Sheffield. The newly decorated bar looked beautiful and had a good choice of beers. My room was spotless, and the shower was a treat after the long drive. Breakfast was included in the room rate, with plenty of choice, and the chef served it himself. I thoroughly recommend the Hilltop. Thanks.

We’d definitely go back. Everyone at this lovely hotel was welcoming and so helpful. After hearing our holiday hadn’t started very well, the chef added a bonus rose to our dinner, which really made us smile.
