Jaquie and John put so much care into this place, and their warmth made our two days feel like home. The homemade food was wonderful, too. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything we needed, in a lovely house in a cosy village. There are old buildings, including the Abbey, right nearby, as well as lovely landscapes to explore. We had an amazing stay.

We came back later in the summer for lunch, and it was just as friendly as our first visit. The food was consistently tasty, and we enjoyed chatting with the couple who run the place. On our earlier B&B stay, the bedroom was beautifully furnished and breakfast was excellent. The owner even held my baby while I ate. Highly recommended.

The cakes were divine, and the sandwiches and soup were excellent too. We stopped for a late lunch after getting soaked at the Abbey, and it turned out to be a great decision. Jacqui and John were so friendly that we ended up chatting with them for ages. Lovely people, and well worth stopping for.

We only meant to stop for a moment after our walk, but the owner kindly came to our rescue with coffee and tea even though the place was closed. We also had a look around. The bedrooms are lovely, a good size and have en-suite bathrooms. It’s a wee gem of a place. The menu looked good, and if this is the hospitality when they’re closed, I can’t wait to come back for lunch on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday when they’re open.

We stopped for lunch after visiting the Abbey without knowing much about the place, and I’m glad we did. The interior is beautiful, and the owners have made it a cosy spot. The soup and sandwich combo was fantastic and plenty of food. I’d recommend stopping here if you’re driving through.
