The staff are genuinely lovely, warm and welcoming, and made me feel at home. The location is convenient too, and you can still see the charm the place must once have had. But there’s wear and tear throughout, and the hotel’s general running is poor even without expecting luxury. I chose it mainly because I expected to be able to get dinner when I came back late. Dinner is advertised until 21:30, but the kitchen actually shuts at 21:00. I was told the chef only gets paid until then and won't work later. I ate on the first night, but on the next three nights I arrived just after 21:00 and found the kitchen closed. The same is due to happen again tonight. That gap between what’s advertised and what’s provided was extremely disappointing. Friendly people can’t make up for service problems that affect guests directly. Clear communication and consistent basic service are essential, and sadly this hotel is poorly managed and doesn’t deliver what it promises.

The location is handy, a short walk from the station and very close to the sea. Our bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean, though the room wasn’t as crisp and clean as other Premier Inns we’ve stayed in. The curtain rail was broken and the headboard was well worn. The stairs were dusty and smelled musty, but the landing was better and looked cleaner. We stayed one night over the weekend, and check-in took half an hour because one person was juggling lots of jobs in a tiny, busy reception area. There isn’t a 24-hour reception as stated, and there’s no phone in the room. We had dinner there. The curry was lovely, but the chef served us a frozen sticky toffee pudding because he hadn’t realised it needed microwaving. The Russian waitress was excellent and understood customer service, unlike the Sunday morning waiting staff. At breakfast there was no coffee because the machine was broken, and a staff member muttered that while glaring at her phone. Our room and meal plan cost £160 each, and we got very little for that. Premier Inns are usually very good, but some staff here need more training. I won’t be back.

We had a family room for two adults and two kids near Eastbourne pier. The room and shower were great. Breakfast was good, though it would have been better with fresh fruit, mushrooms and orange juice. Would stay again though!

The rooms were lovely and warm compared with cheaper local hotels, and the night staff were super friendly. We got the room with a bath that we asked for, plus extra towels. It was clean, with a comfy bed, and the bath filled quickly. Food was good and reasonably priced, right in the town centre. Parking is free on Sundays, and the ticket prices aren’t too bad. I’d come again.

I stay in Premier Inns most weeks, and this was the first one where we weren’t allowed to sit in the bar area. The night shift staff member was rude and turned off the lights to stop us sitting down. The night staff were busybodies, and this is one of the more poorly managed Premier Inns I’ve stayed in. The rooms smell musty, and the heating and air con don’t work properly. They probably don’t clean the filters. Our company will be blacklisting this hotel now.
