Premier Inn Eastbourne

The continental breakfast was very enjoyable, but the full English at the mill opposite wasn't pleasant. The eggs had little flavour and the sausages were gristly, so on our second morning we went elsewhere rather than eat there again. Our room also had sticky handprints on the walls when we arrived. When I settled down to sleep, I had an allergic reaction to something, maybe dust.

The receptionist was the one good thing: she was really nice and helpful, gave us a refund straight away, spent ages cleaning the room herself because no other staff or spare rooms were available, and gave us a voucher for the restaurant next door. But the room was filthy when we arrived to check in in the early evening after being out all day. It looked as if it hadn't been cleaned for months, with cobwebs everywhere, a large safety pin in my daughter's bed and filthy beds and bathroom. There was sick in the sink and the room smelled bad. The only other positive was finding £1 under the bed. We tried the restaurant, but the person there just told us to sit wherever, the staff weren't friendly, and the table was so sticky our drink stuck to it. It was as filthy as the hotel, so we decided not to eat. We stayed at the hotel but ended up coming home in the early hours of the morning. This was honestly the worst hotel we've stayed at. I wouldn't stay here again, even if it's changed.

The staff were friendly, and having a great restaurant next door was a plus. The room could do with updating and air conditioning. I slept well apart from the dustmen arriving at 5.30 AM and a staff member accidentally setting off the fire alarm at 8 AM.

The family room got very warm. There was a fan, but it barely helped. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and check-in and checkout were easy. Our room was clean and tidy, with a bathroom that looked freshly redone. The decor was the usual Premier Inn style. The foyer vending machine takes cards only, and it couldn't connect to the network when we tried it. The location worked well for what we needed.
