The Glastonbury Hotel

The view of The Channel through the room window was mesmerizing, and the location is breathtaking. Our room was neat, tidy and properly furnished, and the staff were extremely cooperative. The service was top quality.

The sea view was lovely, and the room itself was tidy with tea, coffee and a smart TV. Parking was £2 a day with a voucher from the hotel, and management were okay and tried to help. Still, I probably won't return because the noise at night was so bad. The balcony was shared, so people could walk past, and they did. Inside, the French windows wouldn't shut properly, with a broken pane held together by tape and a damaged frame with a gap. The building looks much better outside than in. It needs a lot of care and money spent on it. I also heard locals suggest it may be one of several hotels used to house refugees. If I had booked a longer stay, I would have checked out.

I spent more time enjoying the sea view than watching the tiny TV. The double room was comfortable, and the view was lovely. The decor and the venue feel quite dated, but I still enjoyed my stay. Updating everything might mean it couldn't stay as cheap, so in a way I appreciate the price as it is.

The room took my breath away: floor-to-ceiling windows looking out over the seafront, plus a terrace I could step straight onto. The bathroom had both a shower and a full tub, which was perfect. I’m looking forward to waking up to the sea and sunshine, and to trying the breakfast everyone raves about. There was singing and dancing in the lobby when I came in today, like a little concert, and it made me so happy to watch. You can tell people really love this place. The hospitality I’ve had so far has been so warm. I’ll definitely be back to the Glastonbury on my next visit to Eastbourne. I couldn’t ask for more, and highly recommend this gem.
