Hadleigh Hotel

A very pleasant and helpful man was on reception. My room was nice, with clean white bedding and towels, a walk-in shower, a small fridge and a large fan. I stayed two nights while visiting my sister in hospital, and will definitely come again. Great value for the budget price I paid.

The bed was comfortable, I slept well, and there was very little noise. It's a great spot by the seaside, and the shower was great once I got used to it. My room was clean, but felt tired and in need of some TLC. The bedside drawer was broken. Although it had been painted recently, there were dried paint drops on the carpet and chair, and a few spots had been missed. It just felt rushed and unfinished.

We booked at the last minute for the May bank holiday, and only read the reviews afterwards, so we were really nervous. I was travelling with my wife and our 11-year-old daughter, staying in room 109. For £76 a night on a bank holiday weekend, it was definitely worth the money and exceeded what we expected. No complaints: great location, clean rooms and easy access.

Eastbourne is lovely for a weekend away, and the location was nice. But the rooms were shockingly dirty, just completely uncleaned. I'd seen some online reviews but didn't expect it to be this bad. The bed was stained, the curtains were filthy, and it felt like nobody had cleaned in ages. I felt dirtier after my shower than before. The only plus is the price. If you're just looking for somewhere to sleep while travelling around, don't stay here.
