Ard-Na-Said

The neighborhood was wonderfully quiet in the evenings, yet downtown restaurants could still deliver Uber Eats late at night. Two bus stops are just around the corner, about a block away, and can take you all over. The staff were super accommodating and helpful. There was coffee and complimentary snacks in the sitting room, plus a chess board and what seemed like every possible city guide and magazine. The rooms look stylish and sophisticated. Shower pressure was a little low, but not a big deal. Couldn’t recommend it more.

Ard Na Said was my first choice again, five years after my first stay there with my mum in 2021. It was lovely then and has got even better. My friend hadn’t visited Scotland before, and I never even considered looking elsewhere. The room was spotless when we arrived, with towels, a mini fridge, smart TV, a very large bed and a lovely en-suite. The bed was so comfortable, and the window view beautiful. The location also suited us perfectly, a short trip to the sights and city centre, but quiet enough to relax in the room any time of day. The staff are friendly and reply quickly. We love Edinburgh and want to return more often, so we’ll keep booking Ard Na Said whenever they have space.

We had three rooms for a long weekend with another family, and all of us loved the welcome, decor and comfort. Each room has its own character and is beautifully furnished, with care taken over the details. We also spent time together in the shared lounge, which was really comfortable while we planned what to do next. Edinburgh residents had recommended this lovely guest house, and now we can see why. Steven, the owner, was friendly, helpful and knew the area well. It’s in a peaceful neighborhood that’s still easy to get around from. Loved it.

The location is an easy enough walk from the Royal Mile, and our host was really helpful and friendly. We enjoyed the stay and the room was comfortable. The bath was a good size. The shower made a bit of noise, so nobody could sleep while it was running, though that wasn’t a problem for us.
