It was a cold room at night, which may come with staying in an old tenement, so I’d bring warmer sleep clothes if you feel the cold. Aside from that, the location was great for sightseeing, with everywhere reachable within a 30-minute walk. We had a very pleasant stay. The rooms were clean, and Keiko, the owner, was kind and helpful. The room also had toiletries, a hair dryer and a TV with Netflix.

Really lovely, attentive owners, spacious attractive rooms, and a delicious breakfast spot. It’s perfectly situated within walking distance of everywhere you’d want to go. Would work well for friends or family, and for a solo getaway too.

We spent three nights in Edinburgh for a city break. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with cafes and restaurants close by, and the centre and main sights are all walkable. We arrived early and could leave our bags in a room. Check-in was straightforward and easy. A good experience, no complaints.

The room itself was fine apart from needing a dusting, but the bed was rock hard. The parking situation was the bigger issue. The description gives the impression there are spaces, which is true for local residents or if you can pay £5 an hour, and all the spots are on the street. With a rental car, you might have to park ten minutes away and still pay. The owner seemed unaware how difficult it was when we asked. Google Maps even flags this as a “difficult parking area.” I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it to someone I like.
