The property is in a quiet spot, fairly close to buses and Morrison's supermarket, and there’s free parking. The living and dining room and the main bedroom were spacious. Bathrooms and beds were clean, and most other areas were passably clean. The kitchen was a serious problem. It didn’t seem to have been cleaned properly, if at all. Thick, solid grease covered the microwave turntable and door, so I had to clean it before using it on the first evening. The cooker was also dirty, and the oven, oven shelves, and grill pan were filthy. I told the hosts, Evergreen, and someone came the next day while we were out, as requested. Only the grill pan was cleaned and the hob wiped. The metal shelves and oven door were left untouched. Both bedrooms had wardrobes with hanging space but no shelves or chest of drawers, and neither had a chair. One stair between the entrance hall and the accommodation was in poor repair and possibly dangerous. I found the hosts singularly unhelpful. When booking, I asked whether the pillows were non-feather. They said they “didn’t know” and that if we were allergic we should “bring our own,” though they could have asked the cleaners to check. After I asked for the kitchen to be cleaned, Denise Robertson of Evergreen sent me a curt reprimand rather than an apology for not turning off the heating while we were out. Both the welcome pack and the folder under the TV said the heating was set to turn off and on twice daily. I didn’t appreciate that unfounded lecture about saving energy.

The apartment is spacious and conveniently located in a soulless development. The facilities and furnishings are badly let down by penny-pinching choices. Bring your own bedside lights and table, forks, oven gloves, coat hangers, clothes storage, and remote control cleaner.

For the price, this was very disappointing. The breakers kept tripping, which made the heat and lights go out. There was a broken faucet, shower, kitchen taps, and more. The coffee machine was moldy, ventilation was poor, and the list of problems went on.

We’re an Italian family and stayed at the fettes residence. The flat was clean and very comfortable, and the owner was really helpful. We enjoyed every moment of our holiday!

I visited family who’d rented this apartment for a long weekend. The flat had great facilities and was in a great location. It was very clean, and there was lots of parking very nearby.
