The room had a lovely city view in the morning and late evening, and breakfast offered enough choices for different needs. One person in our group is vegan and was happy with it. Staff were friendly, and the hotel's within easy walking distance of the train station, attractions and shops. Cleanliness needs attention. The carpets around the hotel and in the room looked unvacuumed, and the walls and skirting boards in both the room and bathroom were dusty. Every room should feel clean, whatever its price. We also had to ask for extra towels. Staff were accommodating, but the right number should've been there from day one, along with a bath mat, especially since the bathroom floor was very worn. A good stay overall, but the cleaning needs to improve.

We stayed for almost a week in December 2025 and were paying a substantial amount as tourists. I expected a comfortable stay without having to sort out basic hotel tasks myself, but it was disappointing and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for comfort and convenience. There's no phone in the room, despite the TV saying staff are available 24/7. For housekeeping, rubbish collection or maintenance, you have to go down to reception in person. You also need to request service every day, or nothing gets done. A maintenance problem wasn't fixed the first time, so I had to make several trips downstairs. It felt inefficient and frustrating. The internet was poor, and a usable connection cost extra. The whole setup felt more focused on additional charges than guest comfort. The carpet was visibly worn too, adding to the dated feel. At this price, the experience fell well short of reasonable expectations.

Everything is an easy walk from this city centre hotel, and breakfast had plenty of choice. Our room was clean and a good size. My one complaint is the black mould on the silicone around the shower, which needed a proper clean. I'd recommend it for a visit to Edinburgh.

The room was spotless, one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've stayed in. The cleaning team clearly put care and effort into their work each day, and I really appreciated that. Everyone I spoke to was friendly, kind and helpful. They made the place feel welcoming. I had a brilliant stay and would gladly come back.
